Zen and Relaxation
I like to apply the concepts of zen relaxation when I want to become more aware of my body, and feel a sense of relaxation sweeping through me.
This can be done at anytime, but I prefer doing this before bed time. One way is to be lying down, and having your eyes closed.
Feel, and become conscious of each part of your body. It’s important not to specifically attempt to relax your body parts- you are just thinking about them consciously.
You will also be feeling, and concentrating on your different body senses, such as what you may be hearing, and feeling.
Doing this will help you become more in tune with your body, and feel it more keenly.
It is a great way to ultimately lead you to more relaxed state.
Should you fall asleep, you will rise to be more relaxed and energized than you would otherwise have been.
I realize this may seem unbelievable to some people, but it genuinely works.
As I mentioned earlier, applying zen to your daily activities will make a big difference to the way you feel about things.
Let us take another example.
It is important to drink a lot of water- typically one and a half to two liters a day.
With practice, it becomes quite easy, and it is the way to help your body eliminate toxins, and waste, as well as a way to revitalize your body’s cells.
It is also a great way to help with weight management, as it has been proven to assist in this regard.
I have also included a link to a Zen website where items for your home can be purchased.
I particularly find the alarm clocks are a great idea, as I find it much more pleasant to awake to a gentle alarm, rather than the 'typical' clock radio buzzer that is very harsh.
It is also a wonderful way to awake, if you are working in a stressful environment, such as an emergency room in a hospital, where stress can be a little higher than normal.
